Flower Folk Aotearoa offers an immersive flower crown workshop where creativity, culture, and nature meet. You’ll weave your own wearable crown using fresh blooms, herbs, and foraged greenery. Plant knowledge, folk traditions, and music create a space for connection and celebration. The workshop closes with a flower tea toast and a gift of seed soil, inviting creativity to continue nourishing the cycle of life.

Unlock your inner hoop star in this fun, all-levels Hula Hoop workshop! Learn the basics of waist hooping, explore on- and off-body moves, and try simple transitions and tricks, all at your own pace. Hoops are provided; just bring comfortable clothes, a water bottle, and your fabulous self.

With over 10 years of experience in flow arts and teaching workshops, this open and inclusive class welcomes both beginners and advanced practitioners to learn and upskill in contact flow styles. Explore boundaries in a playful, interactive workshop with Robbie Fear, a trauma-informed Somatic Therapist and Conscious Communication mentor. Learn to navigate interactions safely, energetically, and verbally, empowering yourself in friendships, romantic relationships, the workplace, and beyond.

DJai Ma and Breeezy are somatic dance facilitators and DJs who create transformative, heart-led dance experiences. Through music, movement, breath, and sensation, they guide dancers to connect with their inner rhythms, celebrate the feminine, and explore authenticity, freedom, and joy. Together, they co-create dance floors of expression, remembrance, and human celebration.

Mermaid Soxy 12:00-13:30

Ever dreamed of becoming a mermaid? Dive in with this playful and empowering mermaiding class led by Mermaid Soxy, a certified SSI mermaid instructor. Learn the foundations of mermaiding, including breath holds, body waves, and duck diving, while connecting with fellow aquatic enthusiasts. Monofins are provided, and the session finishes with free play to explore your newly discovered underwater acrobatics and embrace your inner freshwater fae. Must be a competent swimmer to attend.

Kasbian Kinkabu 12:00-13:30

Discover Shibari/Kinbaku, the Japanese art of rope tying, as a meditative and connective practice. This workshop explores its history from Samurai origins to contemporary practice, and Kaspians approach to using rope for building trust, deepening connection, and accessing calm, embodied states. Through guided sensory experiences, you’ll have plenty of time to play with ropes and learn simple ties and harnesses- solo or with a partner. Expect relaxation, exploration, and a lot of laughter, as binding the body offers freedom for the mind.

Learn the history and significance of these sacred treasures, then create your own clay masterpiece or nature-inspired masquerade mask using natural materials like shells, gemstones, feathers, and flora. Rave, Rest, Repeat! Step into our Yogic reset to recharge your body and mind. Using breathwork, somatic yoga, and Yoga Nidra, we guide you from overstimulation to clarity, balance, and vibrant energy. Fascia-focused movements release tension, while playful activation and deep rest help you restore and reset. Join us for this sacred pause between dancefloors- rejuvenate, rise, and rave on.

Creative Northland elevates arts, culture, and heritage across Te Tai Tokerau. Based in Whangārei, we connect artists, communities, and organisations through accessible events, resources, and creative opportunities, with a strong focus on rangatahi development and cultural expression. Our mobile Play Trailer brings hands-on arts experiences directly into communities, and we’re excited to get creative with you at Shipwrecked Festival.

Fever Dream is a creative writing workshop that unites participants in a collective poetry writing
experience, inspired by sounds and surroundings fused together with fragments of one’s own dreams
and memories to produce colourful, spontaneous and playful short-form poems.

Why do we miss the magic right in front of us? This workshop blends cognitive science with
the spirit of adventure to explore why we suffer from ‘inattentional blindness’ and how to
hack our own perception. We will dissect the factors that influence noticing from contrast and
